NEW ORLEANS SUPER 60 RECAP!
NOLA Super 60 was a very good tournament with tons of young talent representing many cities. Top team and players had a chance to square off early, before going to the Big Dance ”AAU Nationals. The stage was set, the lights were bright, several youth media outlets were there evaluating the talent. Even a few college coaches who had son’s playing had a chance to see some talent.

We all can go, North Texas Tarheels, ATR, Tx BU AllStarz, Team Texas, Rytes Warriors, N.O Elite, N.O Revoulution, GCBC, Maryland Panthers, AI9, Lauderhill Lions, Houston Elite, Primetime Select, LA Select, Houston Defenders Select, Cali Style, Texas PRO, Sports Academy, MBA Hoops.
These teams had good talent and should definitely fare well if they decide to participate in AAU Nationals.

Jordan Hunter-PG for the Houston Hoops 14u. This past weekend he played up with an older home-town team Beaumont Hoopstars. Although Hoopstars lost to LA Dynasty in the semis, Hunter put up 20+ plus points on this team of high school players..raining three's and mid range jumpers, getting much respect and praise from the opposing team for his efforts on the court.
Houston Elite pg L.J Cryer averaged 18ppg this past weekend in New Orleans. LJ’s 3 point shooting along with his ability to get to the rim and get others kids involved made him special. However, point guards are eventually defined by their ability to generate “wins”. With that being said, I’m not impressed with a 1-2 record. Some of those 18ppg needs to be sacrificed for defensive stops. No if ands or buts about it.
PRIME TIME NATIONAL QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT!
The Rockstars defeated the Native Pride for first place in this weekends PrimeTime national qualifying tournament held at Legends Sports Complex in the Woodlands. The anticipated match-up between the Rockstars and the Cy Fair Elite did not materialize as the Elite who were already playing without their starting center 6'5" John Myers (Foster HS 2015) who was out of town, and lost their leading scorer John Coakley (6'1" Guard, Jersey Village 2015) late in the fourth quarter of their fourth game due to a knee injury.
Coakley was taken to the ER and did not return for the final two games. After starting out 4-0 and winning their pool, the Cy Fair Elite playing with only seven players ran out of gas and lost both of their games in bracket play to the Native Pride and the Huntsville Chosen Ones in the third place game. Before suffering the injury, Coakley had posted scoring totals of 18, 24, 19 and 24 points. The Cy Fair Elite will be playing again in two weeks. Myers will be back in town and Coakley has been diagnosed with a sprained knee and will be out two weeks.
